Hi, I'm Jordyn.

I'm a Vanderbilt senior pursuing executive search and HR. I love understanding how people and organizations shape each other, and helping the right people find the right places.

A note from me

I have always been the person who wants to know your story.

That curiosity is what pulled me into Human and Organizational Development. I am fascinated by how people shape the places they work, and how those places shape them back. It is also why I started Empowering Immigrants in high school, and why my honors thesis asks how college experiences shape the careers that follow.

Executive search brings all of it together. I get to sit with a company and understand what it really needs, sit with a candidate and understand what they really want, and then find the place where both stories fit.

Thank you for stopping by. I would love to hear yours.

Jordyn

Honors thesis

How does college shape a career?

Advised by Professor Warren Lowell, I'm studying how residential mobility, social capital, and nonlinear paths shape graduates' career success. It's the same question a recruiter asks every day: what really drives someone's trajectory?

Read the pilot study

“For these alumni, who to trust mattered just as much as where to apply.”

From my pilot study

20
semi-structured alumni interviews
78
HOD alumni personally recruited
35
analytic categories coded in MAXQDA
4
themes synthesized from the data

Four early findings from my pilot study, with the full thesis now in progress:

  • Career paths are nonlinear.
  • Relocation is relational rather than economic.
  • Social capital actively redirected career opportunities.
  • Structural factors shape which opportunities feel possible, influencing major choice, emotional adjustment, and workplace experiences.
